Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation (HMWF) Mission
The Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation (HMWF) preserves and commemorates the Heart Mountain World War II Japanese American Confinement Site. Their mission is to educate the public about the illegal imprisonment of Japanese Americans during World War II, emphasizing the lasting impact on liberty and civil rights. Through research, outreach, and support, HMWF highlights the lessons learned from this experience, underscoring the fragility of democracy and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality.
AAGC x HMWF Merch Collaboration:
Introducing the AAGC x HMWF exclusive Tees & Hoodies collection! Designed & hand-drawn by Japanese-American artist Carolyn Suzuki, ALL proceeds will go towards the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation.
These limited-edition merch items not only showcase your support for HMWF's mission but also contribute directly to the preservation of history, the promotion of educational programs, and the facilitation of meaningful outreach initiatives.
Celebrate history and support a worthy cause!
By purchasing these unique pieces, you become a part of the journey to ensure that the voices and experiences of those who endured the Heart Mountain confinement are forever remembered.
AAGC's collaboration with HMWF holds deep personal significance for our founder, Ally Maki. With a family history closely tied to the Heart Mountain incarceration camp, Ally's grandmother's lived experiences fuel her personal connection to the cause. This partnership reflects AAGC's commitment to amplifying the stories of Asian Americans, shedding light on historical injustices, and standing in solidarity with affected communities.
